Zum Thema Archivierung & Records Management wurde vom ISO Technical Committee 46 / Sub Committee 11 "Archives / Records Management" eine eigene neue Webseite eingerichtet. Diese informiert über den Fortschritt der Normierung, besonders über die neue ISO 15489 und die ISO 33000 Familie.

"Our mission and role to play
We are the ISO Committee with responsibility for developing standards on records/archives management. Our foundational standard was ISO 15489:2001- Records management, first published in 2001, but now we mantain some other standards and technnical reports including ISO 30300 series, Management system for records standards.
Our mission and role to play is to take a leading role in improving best practices in managing records by providing a framework as well as standards and guidance for the design and application of records practices and processes. This includes
- Codify best practice in the field of managing records into internationally applicable management system and other standards, for business and societal purposes.
- Influence to improve the guidance provided by others on the mechanism and techniques affecting recordkeeping/records management.
- Influence to improve the development of systems that create and manage records".
